Went for a late night run last night on my regular route. It was around 9pm, so obviously needed my headlamp. I’d never run out there that late, so I was amazed just how dark it was once I got under the tree canopy in carkeek park. What a sharp contrast to the fuzzy glow of city light. At a few points in the run, I couldn’t resist turning off the headlamp and trying to run in absolute pitch black. I mean complete pitch black. It was also completely silent – another rarity in the city. It was great.
