If you’ve on this page, you’re more than likely up to speed on the “my ninemillion” project and are looking to either pledge some heartbeats or some money. (If you’re not familiar, go to the my ninemillion page for an overview of the project).
So here’s how you can show your support:
- Pledge heartbeats – Do you exercise? Would you like to pledge the time you spend exercising towards this cause? Well, all you need to do is post a comment on this page with the number of hours you pledge to exercise (or fast) (example: “I pledge 3 hours of exercise per week”) and I’ll covert the hours to beats and add them to the “beats pledged” tracker. Ultimately, it would be great to see 9 million heartbeats pledged to match the 9 million I’ll be racking up.
- Pledge money – If contributing financially is more your thing, send me an email or post a comment on this page and I’ll let you know where to send your check, etc. I believe $9,000 is a great goal to shoot for and it will go a long way in supporting World Relief-Seattle and the UN’s ninemillion program. Just like with the heartbeats, even the smallest donation will be one step closer to the goal. Of course, all pledges are tax-deductible.

Mike – This is great!! Good job putting this together. FSi would like to contribute $250 to this great cause. Please let me know how you’d like to handle the donation.

Mike – I’m not sure how I’m supposed to do this, but you inspired me to get a YMCA membership and I did my first swim workout on Friday. So if you’d like to count my heartbeats (the number might be off, I get this weird transient tachycardia, but you’ll get the jist), I swam for 20 minutes. Felt good and kind of pathetic at the same time
Corey – thanks for posting your hours! And congrats signing up for the Y. I’ve converted your hours to heartbeats and they’ve been added to the total. If you want to just commit a lump-sum (of future time), just post another comment and I’ll add it to the total. Thanks again, Mike
Mikey, dang it I gave you some money now I”m giving you 10 hrs/week and I double-checked this but including warm up and warm down my average HR for those 10 hours is 140 bpm so that should go a long way for the cause no?
best regards and continued success.

Dearest: I pledge 6 hours a week of exercise. Hopefully I can stay somewhat true to that until 2010! And, knowing your propensity toward math, I’ll let you calculate the heartbeats!
I just had a good friend donate $300 and I’m sitting here completely blown away by the generosity. Thanks to all of you who are supporting this endeavor in one way or another!!!
Hey Mike,
Here’s 129,400 mile-high beats pledged for you man!

Mike, I pledge 3 hours a week of exercise. I figure I might as well get in gear like everyone else.:) If I really get in gear (Mary is totally kicking my butt!) I promise to pledge more. Best of luck with your training. You are amazing!
Hi Mike! I pledge the heartbeats of all my bike commutes
. Let’s say 4 hours of exercise a week.
